Hey, did you see 30 Rock last night? A “funny” subplot is Susan Sarandon as Frank’s former teacher who seduced him and went to jail. Harder to laugh at that since your book. That’s funny you mention the 30 Rock episode. I didn’t see it, but I can see how it would be relevant. In my research, I found that both men AND women commit these crimes (think Mary Kay Louternau). Yes, we can categorize this as a current issue thanks to the media (and technology, i.e. texting, email, etc.), but improper relationships like this have been happening for years. I can’t tell you how many adults our age have approached me and told me about stuff going on between teachers and students when they were in high school – and some of the stories have blown me away. I’m working on a third novel that tackles another very current issue that unfortunately is also deeply embedded in our Catholic faith.
